Wentworth School is a Community Primary School for pupils aged 4 – 11. This is Foundation, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 of your child’s education as outlined in the National Curriculum.
We offer a varied and stimulating approach to the curriculum, which we feel will encourage learning and self-motivation on behalf of the children. We wish to develop the whole child and hope to offer each pupil the opportunity to excel and develop his or her abilities. This will lead to a building of confidence, self-esteem and self-reliance. As they mature, we hope they will take on more responsibility for their learning. The development of social skills and the ability of children to build relationships with their peers and adults is also a high priority of the School.
The importance of the individual and their particular needs are utmost in our approach and the academic progress of the children is constantly monitored and work given that stretches but does not present the child with repeated failure. We work hard to ensure that all children feel good about themselves and work towards their full potential.
We would wish to involve you as much as possible in the learning process of your child and a positive partnership built between School and home develop.
Childhood is a special time, you can count on us to do our very best to make it as happy and productive as possible for your child.

As a school we are very aware of safeguarding processes and procedures. We have systems in place for the vetting of staff and helpers that meet with National guidelines. We have trained staff in child and family welfare issues including e-safety. We can support families, guide or refer them to agencies that will offer professional services.
