KEY STAGE 1
As the children move into the National Curriculum (Yr. 1 – 6) some will continue with the Early Years Foundation Stage learning programme and the pupils assimilate onto the national curriculum when appropriate.
Numeracy and literacy are taught as distinct subjects. The children follow the agreed national curriculum. Where links can be made with other subjects they will be included in the planning for these.
The Foundation subject curriculum is organised into a two year cycle of topics/themes. The two year cycle ensures no repetition for the children.
The topics vary and are regularly reviewed. The content of the two year cycle of topics will ensure that the requirements and expectations of the national curriculum are covered.
