Welcome to Wentworth Primary School's Parents & Teachers Association (PTA) Page
Members are volunteers made up of parents, carers and staff. You are automatically a member of the Wentworth PTA whilst your child is part of our school. We exist as a committee to coordinate and build a social community amongst parents, carers, children and staff. We hope you will want to get involved, it is great fun.
We organise and run a number of social and fundraising activities throughout the year and proceeds enable us to support and fund a number of school initiatives that enhance our children's learning experience that they otherwise would not be able to enjoy.
The PTA currently has a committee of six parents and staff who oversee the running of the association:

PTA meetings are informal and can be attended by anyone and are a good opportunity to meet other parents outside your own year group whilst doing something worthwhile for the school.
We hold an annual general meeting (AGM) in September where a new community is elected each year.

As in most schools, the majority of funds are raised through events that we run. Some of our most popular events are:

Discos
Easter Bingo
Cinema Nights
As you can see there is always something going on!
Donations are also extremely important. These can be of time, money, items for sale and donations for raffles etc....... And most importantly by supporting our events by attending them.
How we spend the money we raise
All of the money we raise is spent on resources to improve a particular area of the curriculum or school environment. PTA funds are for the 'extras' not provided by the school budget, that make our children's learning experiences so much more fulfilling and exciting.
The school council members regularly liaise with the PTA to decide how best raised funds are allocated. We always endeavour to spend our funds in ways that will benefit all of our children, across all areas of the school and curriculum.
Preloved Uniform
On the last Wednesday of every month we hold a preloved uniform sale in the KS2 playground after school. If you have any preloved uniform that is in good condition you are able to donate please put it in the yellow uniform donation bin outside the school office.
If you are unable to attend the uniform sale and are in need of uniform please feel free to email us and we can advise you what is available.
