Year 3 – Cross curricular writing

This term Year 3 classes have been learning about the Stone Age. In English, they have done some fantastic writing to show what they have learnt and what has excited them through the topic.

This week they have been working on including superlatives to show where something is the best or to the highest degree of a particular category, for example: “Mammoths were one of the largest land animals that lived during the Stone Age.”

They have also been practicing using personification, which is when you give human qualities non-human objects, for example: “The darkness of the cave swallowed them up.”

Check out their brilliant use of these features below in their fact pages about mammoths!
