Term 2 2021 - Languages

Celebrating the world around us through Language appreciation!Celebrating the world around us through Language appreciation!

KS1 and KS2 Children all celebrated European Languages day in style, immersing themselves in the fun of languages, with song, familiar children’s tales and quizzes with even some special appearances by the talented linguists of Wentworth Primary School. Children gained understanding of the languages we are surrounded by each and every day, in our school community, our local community and within the wider community of the county and the country.

KS2 children experienced the value of language learning and explored the reasons why this is important. We celebrated the diversity within our school community and explored the heritage of words considering how they can evolve and develop over time.

KS1 children shared in some language learning of French. They actively participated in some shared story telling of a very famous story that the children love, The Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle or otherwise known as…

KS1 children also became language detectives and tried to spot the different languages hidden within this familiar Disney song. Why don’t you have a go too! Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC83NA5tAGE
