Term 5 2021 - Key Stage One Maths

In year one we have been revising our number bonds within 10 and 20 as this helps us with our adding and subtracting.

We have also been adding by making ten and subtracting by both crossing and not crossing ten. We use lots of maths stories and different representations and manipulatives to help us see the Maths we are working on.

In year 2 we are enjoying looking at pictures to see what Maths we can see.

What Maths can you see in this picture?

We are currently revising addition and subtraction using lots of different manipulatives and representations. As you can see, our knowledge of number bonds to ten have been helping us with this.

We even used human-sized ten frames on the playground to help us to add and subtract through ten!

We have also been making sure that we fully understand the composition of numbers by looking at their tens and ones, and finding different ways to partition them.
